On Wednesday, Al Shabaab militants burned three employees to death after hijacking their vehicle.
According to reports, the militants ambushed the car as it was travelling along Lamu-Garsen highway Wednesday evening.
Operation Linda Boni boss Joseph Kanyiri shared that three victims died after the militants shot and threw a grenade at the Toyota RAV 4.
This follows a recent attack reported a few hours before involving another set of militants who reportedly attacked a bus filled with passengers in Witu, Lamu County.
The bus was carrying law enforcement who attempted to hold off the terrorists however five people were injured in the incident.
The five passengers are were rushed to a non-disclosed facility to receive treatment but Kanyiri says they are in stable condition.
The victims include three women and two men who suffered gunshot wounds to the back, shoulders and leg.
One victim caught in the commotion gave his recollection of the incident.
"They shot at the police vehicle I was in and one of the bullets hit my leg. I immediately lied down. Luckily, we managed to drive to Witu but I don't know what happened to those we left behind. I did not see the attackers thereafter," he shared as reported by The Star.
