Police on Thursday morning shot dead three suspected carjackers along Outer Ring Road in Buruburu.

Confirming the incident, Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome said the suspects allegedly carjacked a man on Kangundo Road.

According to Daily Nation, police received the report from bodaboda operators who said they saw four men forcing themselves into a white Toyota 100 registration number KAM 288V, at the junction of Spine Road and Kangundo Road.

The police are reported to have stopped the car along Outer Ring Road where shooting occurred, before the victim was rescued and his car recovered.

Koome said his officers recovered two guns which were both loaded with ammunition.

He added that police have launched a manhunt for the fourth suspect who managed to escape.

The bodies were taken to the City Mortuary.
