People believe that when you are infected with HIV/AIDs, it is a stigma living in society.

But HIV is not a death sentence as you can live long with the virus provided that you are taking medication as advised.

Here are three celebs who went public about their HIV status

Joji Baro

He is a gay gospel artist. He was once mauled and beaten up by his neighbors because he was gay.  

On March 11, 2011 he got tested and turn out to be HIV positive. Baro went public about it.

Richard Amuok

Amuok is a famous rapper known by his song 'Ukoo Fulani"

"I am an HIV-positive rapper with a positive mentality.My journey, my tormenting, life-changing journey, began in a bar sometime in 2010. There was so much demanded of me, and so much that I demanded of myself," he told nation.co.ke.

In 2012, after two years of denial, Amouk accepted his status and made it public.

He was also an artist. He was the first artist to publicly announce that he is HIV positive back in 2013.
