Three men were on Monday arraigned in a Thika court being faced by charges of defrauding off customers by claiming they would sell them a container for use in doing business.
Julius Githinji, Ethan Mwangi and Peter Wanyiri appeared before Thika Principal Magistrate Stephen Mbungi charged with two accounts of fraud.
In the first account, on July20, 2014 the three obtained John Kuria Sh60,000 in Ruiru area and promised to deliver the container in the beginning of the month after, a promise they did not honor.
In the second account, on November 3 2014 the three also defrauded Francis Mwangi, a Ngara resident off Sh150,000 and promised to sell him the same container which later turned to be a lie.
The prosecution told the court that the three had formed a habit of defrauding unsuspecting customers whose wish and motive was to do business.
The three pretended to own a container and were arrested in Ruiru while trying to defraud another resident.
They denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 each
They will be brought back to court on February 4 this year when their case will be heard.
