Residents of Uuni in Mwala, Machakos County woke up to a bizarre sight of carcasses belonging to three donkeys slaughtered in a thicket on Friday.
Uiini sub chief Peter Mutundu said the donkeys' owner claimed the three animals which he had lost during the 3.00am incident worth over Sh30,000.
Mutundu said the culprits poisoned more than 20 dogs in the neighborhood before they slaughtered the donkeys.
He addressed the press in Mwala on Friday.
Matundu said the suspects had a white Probox car which was seen headed to Kangundo town through Vyulya.
He urged the residents to provide the police with information that can lead to the suspects' arrest.
“Tell the authorities what you know about donkeys theft to help contain the crime, " said Mutundu.
This incident comes barely a week after two donkeys were found slaughtered at Athi River town in Mavoko Sub County.
