Likoni police boss Willy Simba who confirmed the arrest said the suspects were arrested after boarding a tuktuk heading to South Coast.

The suspects identified as Tamire Dejibo, Chagure Itebo and Robarto Tibore all aged between 25 and 30 had no valid documents at the time of their arrest.

“The three suspects were intercepted a board a tuktuk heading to South Coast. They are in police custody and were arrested for being in the country illegally,” he said.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Mr Simba said they received a tip off from members of the public which led to the arrest of the suspects.

He said that the foreigners were arrested after it was discovered they did not have legal documents from the immigration department.

“The suspects will be charged in court with the offence of being in the country illegally once investigations are complete,” said Mr Simba.

The Likoni police boss however confirmed that they are pursuing leads that would assist the officers in the arrest of a Kenyan who is believed to be the leader of the suspects.
