Three men were on Monday arraigned before a Nairobi Court to answer to charges of damaging property belonging to Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko.
Mr Felix Kioko, Mr Emanuel Baraza and Mr Benjamin Anuago were being accused of allegedly destroying a house which was being renovated for use by Sonko's company.
The court heard that the three on July 22, 2017 in Upper Hill, Nairobi allegedly destroyed windows, doors, electricity switches and other items, all valued at Sh500,000.
The three accused person are said to have committed the offence with others who are still at large.
The prosecution told the court that on the material date, the accused with six other men had gone to the premises where they worked as casual labourers to ask for their dues.
They called the complainant, Alphonce Mutinda but couldn't get a hold of him and that is when they resorted to damaging the property.
The watchmen at the premise were chased by the men who broke into the house and started damaging property and also threatened to burn the house.
The court heard that the guards alerted the Sonko Rescue Team whose members chased after the group and managed to capture the three accused persons who were arrested and taken to Capitol Hill police station.
The three however denied the charges before chief magistrate Francis Andayi and asked to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.
Magistrate Andayi ordered for the three to be released on a Sh200,000 bond or Sh70,000 cash bail.
The case will be heard on August 16.
