Three middle aged men accused of gang raping 18 year old girl in Kangundo Constituency were on Thursday arraigned in Kangundo Law Court.
The three Samuel Mbatha, Leonard Kivuva and Moses Mutua are accused of masterminding, raping and sexually assaulting 18 year old girl on February 23, 2015.
It is claimed that the three attacked the lady on her way home from her friend's house, where they took her in a bush and repeatedly raped her.
The culprits are further accused of stealing Sh1,500 and a mobile phone from the victim's handbag.
The victim narrated that she screamed for help and alerted the passersby who came to her rescue.
The three appeared before Magistrate, Lawrence Mugambi, in Kangundo law courts and denied the charges.
Mugambi ordered the three be released on a Sh1 million bond each.
However they could not raise the amount, hence being held in Kangundo police custody as they await the next hearing.
The accused are scheduled to appear in Kangundo Law Courts again on March 26, 2015.
The three accused were among a gang of five but two escaped. Kangundo police station officers have launched a manhunt for the two.
