Three people were on Tuesday morning arraigned before a Kisumu chief magistrate court to answer to charges of stealing electronic items from a shop in Kisumu.

Steven Okumu, Benter Nyamara and Roselyn Okinde denied the charges before chief magistrate Esther Maina for the offence allegedly committed on the June 1, this year.

The court heard that Nyamara, who used to work as an attended at the shop, is said to have taken the items worth sh150,000 and gave them to the first and third accused person, who in return sold them.

Among the items stolen include television set, mobile phones, decoders, charges and batteries.

The owner, Ramil Shamir was away when the incident happened, and he only realized of it on the June 4, when auditing the stock.

Nyamara failed to explain how the items disappeared, something that prompted the boss to call the police who arrested her.

She is said to have confessed about what really happened and those involved.

Nyamara has been in custody from the June 4, awaiting the arrest of other accused persons; Okumu and Okinde, who were arrested on Saturday last week in Kisumu.

They were released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 each with surety of a similar amount, pending hearing on the July 26.
