Speaking to the Press on Friday in his office, Kiragu said they have apprehended three people during police crackdown they launched.

He said that the three were arraigned in Court on Friday and remanded in Police custody pending further investigations.

Kiragu said the crackdown is as a result of the increase in insecurity cases in the country and said they will go on and arrest all suspects who could be a threat to security in the area.

"We are conducting a thorough crackdown and so far, we have arrested three people, two Somalia nationals and a Tanzanian for being in the county without clear documents allowing them to be in the Country. Investigations are on to ascertain their authenticity," confirmed Kiragu.

However, he asked residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi Initiative by knowing their neighbours, and report to Police anybody they suspect their moves.

"I ask Kisii residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi concept as one way of ensuring security prevails amongst ourselves by reporting anybody they suspect engage in criminal activities,” appealed Kiragu.
