Three people were injured when a probox vehicle they were travelling in was sprayed with bullets over the weekend by suspected Al-shabab militia between Bothai and Ijara town in Hulugho sub county, Garissa County.

The passengers were headed to a wedding ceremony when incident occurred.

One of the passengers, who sought for anonymity, said the militia group injured three after they had suspected the vehicle was ferrying security personnel.

The militia fled to the sprawling Boni forest, while the injured were rushed to Masalani sub county Hospital and later transferred to Garissa County Referral Hospital in Garissa town for treatment.

Hulugho Deputy County Commissioner, Timothy Siele said a team of security officers has been deployed to track the terrorists in the forest.
