The county government of Nyamira has accused three Jubilee leaders of allegedly fuelling inter-clan unrest in the NASA controlled region.
Jerusha Momanyi (Women Representative), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Walter Nyambati, a former MP and gubernatorial loser are said to be igniting unrest in the county by inciting Abagetutu clan against the Bogirango clan.
“They are spreading leaflets in Kitutu Masaba that is inciting Bogirango clans and Bogetutu people,” Wrote Nyambega Gisesa, who doubles as Communication Officer for Governor John Nyagarama.
Among the issues they are complaining, Gisesa wrote, is alleged exclusion of Bogetutu people from employment opportunities in the county government.
But in their response, the county government insists that all clans within the county have been treated equally with the governor being keen on job distribution.
“Of the ten County Executive members, two comes from Kitutu clan and we also have some other slots equally given to other residents,” he further said.
Although none of the three MPs is yet to make an official statement, Nyambati has however challenged Nyagarama’s victory in High Court.
