However, the Southern end of the town is known for more and remains the most admired middle income locality in the county.

Here are the things that make ''south-side'' the best.

1. Beauty and organization.

Made up predominantly of county residences established to house the now defunct Municipal Council of Nakuru (MCN) staff at the tail end of the colonial era, South side residents have the best living experience in the entire county.

Unlike other estates under individual investors, which are mostly characterized with congestion as developers strive to make the most out of the least, the south is fully packed with road networks, spacious play grounds, parking spaces and fire assembly points making life as comfortable as it should be.

The neatly arranged units also boast of well defined water and sewer lines, a sewer treatment plant and cheap rent, further bettering the experience.

2. Beautiful wild scenery

Bordering the Lake Nakuru National Park, residents are usually, especially in the evenings, treated to a free beautiful wild scenery and are at liberty to watch monkeys and baboons which are on most occasions out looking for food.

Residents of Green View estate, formerly known as Manyani, a swahili word for ''baboons'' are, however, the biggest beneficiaries with buffaloes and Zebras always out on tour, though separated from them by a thin electric fence, availing to them an opportunity that foreign tourists pay thousands of shillings to acquire.

3. Political stability

Classified under Kivumbini ward, the area which is made up of Kaloleni, Kivumbini, Paul Machanga, Ojuka, Pida, Nakuru Press, Phase Two and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers residences, is known for its loyalty to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led opposition block.

Though a cosmopolitan area, the area remains peaceful, a situation that was present even during the 2007 post election skirmishes.
