Three Wajir County MCAs have denied assault and damage of property charges leveled against them.The elected leaders, Isaack Dahir (Rhamu Ward), Abdilatif Adau (Kotulo) and Hadi Madey (Ashatibo) had been arrested and charged at the Wajir Magistrates Court after being accused of assaulting Ibrahim Gedi, Muhamed Mustafa and Siyad Nashri on March 15.The incident, according to the prosecution happened at the County Assembly when the complainants went to the Assembly to launch a case against the three.According to the prosecution, the MCAs assaulted the complainants before ejecting them out of the County Assembly.Wajir Resident Magistrate Boldad Rogoncho freed the three pending the hearing of their case in April.The MCAs were released on a bond of Sh200,000 each with a surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Sh50,000 each.
