Three men have been charged with vandalizing property belonging to Kenya Power Company worth Sh500,000 at Matungulu in Machakos County.

Raphael Kiilu, Jackson Mutuku and Samuel Munywoki were arraigned in Kithimani Law Courts on Thursday.

The trio who appeared before senior resident magistrate Gilbert Shikwe pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.

The court heard that the accused persons committed the offense on February 13, 2018 at Ol-donyo Sabuk National Park in Matungulu Sub County, Machakos county.

The three vandalized copper wires transmitting electricity to the park's guest house.

The trio also faced alternative charges of trespassing the national park.

They were released on a Sh100,000 bond each with surety of the same amount.

The case is set for hearing on March 1, 2018.
