Three MPs from Kisumu who returned to the ODM party three years after leaving were on Saturday given a heroic welcome during a rally presided over by party leader Raila Odinga.
Kisumu West's Olago Aluoch who was elected on a Ford Kenya ticket, Onyango K'Oyoo of Muhoroni who was elected on PDP party ticket and Jared K'Opiyo were received by ODMs top leadership during celebrations to mark ODMs '10 At 10' in Kisumu.
The three left ODM after the bungled party nominations in Kasarani in the run-up to the 2013 general elections.
While addressing a rally at Kirembe grounds, Mr Odinga promised to accord the three full support saying the party will conduct free, fair and credible nominations.
The move by the lawmakers has been praised in the county with Kisumu Central ODM chairman Seth Ochieng and Treasurer Edward Ogolla thanking the trio for 'coming back home'.
According to Ochieng, the party will not afford to do shambolic nominations and warned those expecting to be endorsed to be prepared for a rude shock.
Former Kisumu mayor Sam Okello who is Raila's close ally also congratulated the three saying their return was long overdue.
He also declared that he will run against Kisumu Central lawmaker Ken Obura who is considered a party rebel.
