[Photo/the-star]Three pupils from Peter's Awich Kidingo ECDE centre in Kisumu county were on Tuesday hospitalised after police fired teargas canisters into their school during the anti-IEBC protests on Monday.According to the school's head teacher Eunice Odhiambo, two children were rushed to Milimani Hospital and one was taken to Lumumba Hospital."When we ran to the class, we found a teargas canister and smoke inside. We started getting the students out of the classes," Odhiambo is quoted by the Star.The head teacher further noted that while they were in the process of evacuating the pupils from the classrooms to a safe place, a second tear gas canister was lobbed into the school's compound.The school's head said she started recording the video of the scenario after two more teargas canisters were fired into the school."While I was recording the video, an officer jumped through the fence. I locked myself in the administration block before they left," she explained.Odhiambo also noted that 20 pupils were absent on Tuesday following the Monday happenings due to traumitisation.The learning institution has 101 pupils.
