The accident occurred near Kapseret Trading Center along Eldoret – Kapsabet Road.

Official communication from the County's secretary Peter Lelei indicates that the three, two drivers and the procurement officer were involved in the accident as they were headed to the Eldoret International Airport.

There were no explanations provided on how the incident happened or what could have caused it.

Lelei, however, said all the three were in stable condition receiving treatment.

“Our team of officers who were in the process of dropping a treasury officer to the airport to deliver documents in Nairobi got involved in a traffic road accident near Kapseret,” read part of the press release circulated to media houses by the county communication team signed by Lelei.

“They were evacuated to St Luke’s Hospital where all the three are in stable condition receiving treatment,” it reads in part.

The County Secretary in the statement further cautioned against spreading false information in relation to the accident saying “let’s keep them in our prayers and communicate only accurate information on this accident.”
