Three people died in Nairobi on Tuesday evening after a Passenger Service Vehicle lost control and rammed into a restaurant.
Those who died were having a late lunch inside Baker's Inn restaurant near the main railway station roundabout adjustment to the Cooperative Bank head office.
Witnesses said the matatu was leaving Railways bus terminal and was headed to Langata.
The identities of those who died had not been availed by the time of publication of this story.
Nairobi Police boss Paul Wanjama said thirteen people were injured including the driver of the matatu belonging to St Mary's Sacco.
Those injured were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital.
Kenya Red Cross Society officials helped evacuate the injured to hospital.
It has been raining in Nairobi and police have been warning motorists to be vigilant as roads were slippery.
Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko on his official Facebook account told motorists to be cautious while driving in the city.
"What is the speed limit in town especially the Central Business District? I Can't believe a Langa'ta-bound matatu has just rammed into Bakers Inn eatery restaurant near Railway Station [at the] roundabout killing three innocent people," he said.
"I send my condolences to the affected families."
Police by the time of the publication of the story had not arrived at the scene of the accident.
