A head on collision accident has left three people dead and several others injured in Naivasha’s Kinungi area.
The accident occurred when the car the deceased were travelling in hit a truck that was coming from the opposite direction.
The car that was travelling from Western to Nairobi was allegedly trying to overtake a bus when it rammed into the oncoming truck.
James Njuguna, a witness, said that the collision between the car and the truck left the truck blocking the Nairobi-Nakuru highway while the car plunged into a ditch, a few metres from the gory scene.
“The car seemed to have been carrying relatives; a man, his wife and son who lost their lives on the spot. Three others were seriously injured,” Njuguna said.
It took the efforts of members of public to remove trapped bodies from the wreck.
While confirming the incident, Naivasha deputy OCPD Agnes Amojong urged drivers to desist from careless driving, saying that the little road instructions drivers ignore lead to loss of lives on the roads.
“We need to be careful on our roads to alleviate the rate of road carnage. We need to mind road instructions,” she added.
The deceased were taken to Naivasha sub-county morguary while the injured are recuperating at the same health facility.
