Musyoka threatened to take to court Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and former Attorney General Githu Muigai for failing to restore his security despite a court order.

Speaking on Tuesday, the former Vice President gave the trio a three-day ultimatum, or else, they face the law.

"If they will not have reinstated my security within three days, I will sue Matiang'i, Boinnet and Githu for contempt of court," he said.

Kalonzo, who served as Kenya's 10th Vice President during the tenure of former President Mwai Kibaki, accused the ruling party of looking down upon him, saying his security was a right and not a privilege.

"Security for a former VP is not a privilege as Jubilee administration thinks but a right. Restoring security is not negotiable," he stated.

The Wiper Democratic Movement of Kenya (WDM-K) party leader was speaking during party's women league conference at Stonni Resort in Athi River, Machakos County.

Meanwhile, Githu Muigai, the government's chief legal advisor, has resigned.

While making the announcement, President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated Justice Paul Kihara Kariuki as Githu's successor.
