Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o is already a darling of the county residents just six months after he took over from his predecessor Jack Ranguma.
Most locals love the governor and his team because of the good work they have initiated in the county.
The love of the residents came to the fore last month when they flocked the Kisumu airport to receive the governor after he jetted back from abroad where he was receiving treatment.
Some of the projects that have made Nyong'o a darling of many include;
1) The relocation of Kachok dumpsite:
Last month, the process of relocating the dumpsite that has been a menace for the past decades begun.
This was a relief to many residents as the dumpsite posed a health risk to most of them.
2) Focus on improving health care
Among Governor Nyong'o's main agenda is improving the health sector in the county and ensuring that residents get easy access to medical services.
So far, the county government has conducted several medical camps in the region and recently signed an MoU concerning implementation of Universal Health Coverage for Kisumu County.
3) Improving ease of doing business
Nyong'o's administration has improved the ease of doing business by cleaning and renovating various markets in Kisumu.
The Governor's team has also issued cash to various business in the area.
Following the governor's achievement in the above mentioned sectors, residents created a hashtag #Tichtire to mean Work is being done.
