Three robbery suspects were on Sunday morning shot and killed by police in a botched robbery incident in Kayole.
Confirming the incident, Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno disclosed that police and the gunmen engaged in a shooting encounter at Mowlem along Kangundo Road and police managed to pursue and shoot them dead near Obama estate.
Three firearms were recovered in the incident that saw one police officer injured after being shot in the hand by the suspects.
Among the recovered firearms was a Ceska pistol that was reported to have been stolen from a Huruma-based police officer earlier in July.
Cases of armed crime in Nairobi have risen with at least 12 robbery suspects killed in the last four days in incidences police recoved a total of seven firearms.
