Three men were on Monday night shot dead following an attempted rape incident at Makaburini area along Bunyala Road in Nairobi.

The suspects are said to have attacked a woman and were dragging her into a bush when she raised alarm, prompting police officers who were patrolling in the area to respond.

The officers gunned down the suspects as they attempted to flee the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for an injury she sustained during the attack.

Two pistols and a knife were recovered from the slain suspects.
