Deputy President William Ruto has started planning for the 2022 general electipons.Ruto is expected to vie for the presidency on the Jubilee ticket after President Uhuru Kenyatta vacates office.
According to Nation, the DP has employed three strategies in order to clinch the top seat.Ruto is said to be targeting the Mt. Kenya region, and a number of NASA strongholds especially the Coast.
In his plan to win the Mt. Kenya region, DP is using a three strategy to capture the vote rich area.In the recent weeks, Ruto has been launching development projects almost every weekend.
Secondly, the DP has been convening meetings with MPs at his Karen home. He has already hosted MPs from Nyeri and Meru regions.
Leaders from Nyeri were led by Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua who said politics did not dominate the topic.
“2022 is a done deal. We agreed in 2013 to support Ruto and there is nothing to discuss. We just went there (Karen) to push for some projects that will benefit Nyeri people like the Karatina market,” Mr Gachagua said.
Thirdly, the DP has been sending his contributions to Harambees being held in different areas.
