Three students were arraigned in a Wajir Court to answer to charges of sodomising a 10-year-old boy.
The court heard that the three students committed the heinous act between February 8 and March 23 in Habaswein, Wajir County.
Two of the suspects are secondary school students aged 13 and 14 years, while the age of the third one was yet to be confirmed.
The court heard that the three boys sexually assaulted the minor on his way to school and that they committed the act in an abandoned house.
Habaswein OCPD Benjamin Kimwele who had confirmed the incident, said the boy’s parent discovered a change in his behaviour and how he walks.
The boy’s father then took him to the hospital where it was confirmed that the minor had been sexually assaulted.
Mr. Kimwele said the matter was reported at the police station and investigation was launched leading to the arrest of the three students.
The three students however pleaded not guilty to the charges and filed an application to be released on bond pending the next case hearing.
The court granted the three suspects a bond of Sh100,000 each.
The case will be heard on April 4.
This is the fourth incident of rape in Wajir County since January.
In February this year, three men gang-raped a 15-year-old girl for two days in Habaswein Sub County in Wajir.
