Thika police officers have arrested three suspected criminals who are alleged to have information on the murder of a man whose body was retrieved on Monday.
Thika OCPD Erastus Muthamia said the three are helping the police find the murderers as they are being interrogated.
Martin Maigua, 24, Titus Karanja, 26 and Michael Kamau were arrested in a rental house in Majengo after police investigating the incident got information about their whereabouts.
The suspects are also alleged to have been involved in robbing a businessman in the area at a gunpoint on Monday and later made away with over Sh100,000 among other items.
Police said that no solid evidence was found in the room they were residing in but they are sure to get the information on their operating dens in the course of investigations.
Muthamia, however, asked the area residents to come forward and record statements to help prosecute the suspects as he is sure the public have information on who attacks them in the area and they are unwilling to share with the police.
Crimes incidences are on the rise and Thika DCC Jeremiah Gicheru on Monday, in a public meeting, cautioned the police and public covering up the criminals saying that they will be dealt with accordingly.
The suspects will remain in Thika police custody until the police have enough information to prosecute them.
