However, you need to know the things they cherish to double the fun.

Here are some of them;

1. God

Members of the Luo community, just like their counterparts from other ethnic groups, believe in the existence of a supreme being whom they love and respect and attribute all the good things to.

They brag of many religious sub-divisions, mostly based on Christianity, including Legio Maria, Roho and Adundo Mowar and attribute most evil things to the devil.

Some of their names for God include Nyasaye, Were and Obong'o Nyakalaga.

2. Education

In Luo-land, education comes first and is emphasized to an extent that it becomes almost forceful.

The culture was kick-started by long-gone Senior Luo chief Odera Akang'o who imposed education on his subjects during the reign of imperialists in Siaya in 1915, before it spread to other parts of the Nyanza region and ultimately to all grandchildren of Ramogi Ajwang'.

3. Fish

Though considered a stereotype nowadays, Luos truly love and enjoy eating fish.

Actually, just like many city dwellers depend on Ugali and Sukumawiki on a daily basis due to the dish's affordability, most Luo's can survive on Ugali and Fish daily, provided that it is given a different touch and prepared different on each occasion.
