Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula was on Tuesday ousted from the Senate Minority leadership position and replaced by his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.
The ouster was conducted b opposition Senators who noted that Orengo was better placed to lead them in the house.
Following the removal of Wetangula, Orengo will now be expected to proceed with the functions of the Minority Leader that include;
1.Spearheading the legislative agenda of the minority party in the Senate.
2. Acting as a direct counterpart of the Senate Majority leader.
3. Acting as the chief spokesperson for his respective party where he will be responsible for the coordination and managing of his party or coalition's agenda in the Senate.
Speaking shortly after the ouster, FORD Kenya leaders strongly condemned the move to kick out Moses Masika Wetangula as the Leader of the Minority in the Senate orchestrated by ODM legislators.
In a statement, the party bemoaned the turn of events, saying that it does not augur well for democracy.It blamed ODM for demonising the leadership of NASA
