Initially, there used to exist rival youth groups which despite not deserving the tittle 'gangs', would unite to face-off during festivals and such like events.

On most occasions groups of youths from different areas of the town would clash after confrontations generating from individual fights, this has however faded.

2. Bank robberies

Gone are the days when robbers would raid banking halls and order all customers and employees to lay down as they emptied the vaults.

Criminals seem to have either given up on crime or got new ways of reaping what they never sowed.

It's also likely to be as a result of the improved security inventions, including the presence of surveillance cameras in most premises.

3. Free Cinemas

Back in the day, we used to have cinema trucks which would tour estates, each with its own date, several times a year and air free cinemas at night.

In the estate where I grew up, for instance, we would enjoy the free film on the 9th of each month, with the movies being shown on a large screen to enable people to even watch from their windows.

These are also no longer there.
