Luos are great people who despite being deemed to be proud have played a big role in realizing the Kenyan development dream.

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

Over time, they have proved their importance to the nation especially in the sports and entertainment arena, giving us most of our football and rugby players and dominating the hip-hop and comedy worlds as well.

Also, they are cool people who are good in interacting with the others in our day to day lives.

However, here are some of the instances where you are likely to land into a row with these great people.

1. Downplaying their leadership

Most Luos have a strong admiration and liking for their political leaders, especially opposition leader Raila Odinga and his departed father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, whom they try relate to in one way or the other.

By down-looking or showing any kind of disrespect to any of the two, or the remaining group of Luo leaders, however justifiable your stand might be, you are likely to end up in disagreement resulting to a heated argument.

2. Disregarding their culture

Members of the community also value and treasure their culture and ancient practices which a majority of them have remained loyal to, rules that they believe were passed down to them by their fore-fathers who lived long ago, or ''chon gi lala'' as they put it.

Luos, just like members of any other community believe that their traditions are the best and attempts to refute this, or portray their culture in bad picture, is also likely to land you in trouble.

3. Questioning their education

Questioning a Luo's education is the worst as they have made a name for themselves as one of the most, if not the most learned community in the nation.

Luo's dominate the Kenyan academic arena hence the big number of Luo professors throughout the nation, and questioning their academics will only see you subjected to heavy vocabulary which will take you ages to trace in the Macmillan Dictionary.

Now you know how to co-exist with these great people!
