Weddings are events where love is celebrated. A wedding is both a love affair and a sacred affair. Its sanctity stems from the fact that marks the onset of marriage life. A marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God. As it is written in the holy book, a man shall leave his mother and father and get joined by a woman in holy matrimony. When you attend a wedding of your best friend, there are some things that you should never do.
Do not stare at the bride for too long
It is a known fact that the bride and the groom will be the most beautifully dressed couples in the room. With a pretty white gown, it is natural that all eyes will be on the bride. As a man who is a best friend to the groom, never stare at the bride for too long. It will raise uncalled for tension. There is a big difference between looking and staring. Staring for a look is a different case altogether. Staring at a woman for long usually sends some signals. It might be interpreted that you are sexually admiring the woman. You do not want to be the reason behind your best friend’s wedding falling apart.
Smarter than the groom
It is your friend who is getting married, not you. You should therefore not attract so much attention as the best-dressed man in the room. Even if you have far much better clothes that the groom, keep them for another day. Today is your friend’s day. Let him be the centre of attention. You do not want to be the proverbial mourner who wept louder than the bereaved.
Drink responsibly
At the reception, do not let the cat out of the bag by drinking yourself silly. When you get tipsy, you might say some things that might jeopardize the relationship between the newlyweds. Of course, you know the secrets of your friend. In fact, you know some ugly secret about him that even his wife is not privy to. If you indulge in binge drinking, you might end up having a slip of the tongue which will forever dent the relationship between the newlyweds.
