More than three thousand youths in Kiambu have graduated in the youth empowerment program initiative which was spearheaded by the Kiambu County Sports CeC Michael Waikenda.

The empowerment which was winded up in Githunguri area where it marked the 57 ward out of 60 to be completed is said to have benefited many youths who are now empowered in the society.

Waikenda was speaking on Monday in Githunguri Sub County where he hosted a youth program in the area.

Waikenda said that the program touched so many topics including drugs, illicit brews, employment venturing and girl child education which he believes will make a difference in the county in general.

“The youth to avail for the tedious program is a sign of thirst for development and I extend my heartfelt gratitude for making the program a success,” said Waikenda.

Waikenda revealed that the next training will focus on training all Kiambu Youth Leaders in the society, to empower them with skills in leadership and management of resources.

Waikenda added that he would stop at nothing to ensure that Kiambu youths were shaped towards the direction of good morals. He hopes that soon that crime and unemployment will be something of the past.

He extended his gratitude to the county governor William Kabogo for continued support of making the dream of empowering the youth come true, and he said that they believed that this would make a difference in the county.

He has called on leaders to preach word of empowerment to every youth in the grass root during their development project in the county.
