Retired President Mwai Kibaki has confessed about a throat infection that has affected his speech. The former Head of State had great speeches but the quality has depreciated with time. The worst show was during the burial of Governor Gachagua where Kenyans neither heard nor understood Kibaki’s speech. Some used social media platforms to advise Kibaki to shun public life.
"I have a problem here, that is why my voice is so low. It is good to talk the truth because there is nothing to hide," Kibaki said while pointing at his throat.
The 84-year old was speaking while endorsing his nephew Nderitu Muriithi for Laikipia governorship and John Mwaniki as Muriithi’s running mate. Nderitu is a former Industrialization assistant Cabinet Secretary and Member of Parliament of Laikipia West.
“Those who work hard are always admired. I have experience in these things and I have been there. I believe we will succeed and have the job. You must make good decisions during voting and demand services. Some of the existing problems are not new but have been there because of unfulfilled pledges,” Kibaki said as he urged residents to vote for the two.
