A man has been gunned down in Mavoko, Machakos County.
The unidentified thug was shot dead by police at Mlolongo Phase Three Estate on Wednesday.
Mlolongo assistant county commissioner David Mukung said the deceased suspected to be member of outlawed Gaza group was shot at 3.00am.
Mukung said police recovered a gun and other crude weapons from the deceased.
Speaking to this writer on the phone, the commissioner said the suspect was a ‘hardcore’ criminal wanted by the police.
Mukung said the thug did not have any identification document on him during the incident.
He said it was suspected some thugs who were in the company of the deceased escaped adding that the gang had made the area and parts of the town inhabitable.
“There has been lots of insecurity in Mlolongo Phase Three, these criminals terrorize residents but the police are managing the situation,” said Mukung.
He said laptops, gas cylinders and electronics were recovered from the scene.
Mukung said the thug was gunned down after they robbed residents of their property with violence.
