The three were found by the Police packaging goods stolen from local shops and kiosks.

According to Kikuyu OCPD, Mutune Maweo, thugs have devised ways of stealing goods from the local shops, repackage them afresh and then sell them in wholesale to the same people they stole from and to the hawkers.

"Two have escaped with gun wounds while these one fell down and died. These people steal goods and sell them to their victims who have never suspected,” said Maweu.

Residents whose shops have been broken into say that thugs have terrorised them for a long time.

"I thought that when the Police started conducting patrols in this area, the burglars would disappear but that has not been the case. Last week they broke into my shop and stole everything leaving me with only a bread and a tray of eggs,” said Mary Wanjiru, a shopkeeper.

Maweo has now appealed to residents to report anyone who may come to them for treatment with gun-shots.
