Unknown thugs broke into Machakos-based flour mill plant Tuesday night and escaped with property worth hundreds of thousands.
The plant which is located in Machakos Industrial area specialises in flour milling and packing. The robbers destroyed the electrical fence which surrounds the plant before entering into the compound using the windows to get inside the buildings.
Machakos township location Chief Mr Joshua confirmed the incidence and added that the thugs are suspected to be responsible for another robbery which took place in a shop a few days ago in Machakos town.
He urged the residents to cooperate with the police by giving information that can lead to the arrest of the thugs. He added that the robbers escaped with CCTV cameras and property worth hundreds of thousands.
Residents argued the police to make use of the patrol cars purchased by Machakos County Government to improve the security of the town and its environs.
The area chief said that police will have launched investigations and the robbers will be arrested soon and prosecuted. He also said that police will be patrolling in the town to prevent search incidents occurring again.
