On Monday night a watchman was killed by thugs who broke into Kolunga Primary School Nyando, Kisumu County.
The watchman, Otung' Lusi, was stabbed to death and dumped inside a class eight classroom.
According to Head teacher David Owili, pupils discovered the Lusi’s body in a pool of blood.
Once the gang killed the watchman they proceeded to steal computers, a projector and four tablets.
Owili suspects the thugs entered through the deputy head teacher's office after cutting the window grill.
Awasi-Onjiko MCA Maurice Ongeta has asked local police to thoroughly investigate the killing and theft at the primary school.
Ongeta added that there should be an increase of police officers in schools to prevent such cases.
"We want sub-county and county chiefs to wake up and ensure the safety of residents and their property," Ongeta said as quoted by The Star.
Local residents called upon General of Police Joseph Boinnet to hold officers responsible for their lack of vigilance.
