Suspected thugs killed a middle-aged woman on Saturday morning in Ichuni village Borabu Sub County Nyamira County.
Area chief Michael Onsombi confirmed the incident and said the woman was hacked to death by the thugs who are yet to be known.
“The woman has been working in one of the farms in the area. It is a shock to us to learn that thugs attacked and killed her without stealing anything from the farm. The reasons behind the brutal murder are yet to be established,” said the local administrator.
Onsombi called on members of the public to volunteer information to police to help in arresting the culprits.
“We suspect that the woman’s killers are from within. The public should cooperate and provide information which will lead to the arrest of the murderers. Such mysterious killings are unacceptable and culprits must face the full force of the law,” said Onsombi.
Reached for a comment area police boss Timothy Mwasia said police are hunting for the killers who are at large.
Mwasia said the woman’s body was taken to Nyamira County hospital mortuary.
