Thugs on Friday broke into Nyali MP Hezron Awiti’s business premise at Habo Agencies Building and destroyed property of an unknown value.

The goons are said to have destroyed windows, computers and other equipment estimated to be worth millions of shillings.

Confirming the incident, Mombasa Criminal Investigation boss Jacob Kanake said police have launched investigations into the incident.

Addressing journalists at the scene, Awiti faulted police over failure to protect him and his family, despite being attacked on several occasions.

He blamed the incident on his political rivals, saying no amount of intimidation will make his bow out of the Mombasa gubernatorial race.
