Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi's Nyali home was on Thursday raided by unknown people.
The thugs are said to have made away with property of unkown value, including his personal laptop, house electronics, some documentation and several other valuables.
"I heard commotion from downstairs but by the time I got to the sitting room, the robbers had already done the looting and left," said Kingi, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Nyali Police Station officers, where the governor reported the incident are still combing his home for evidence.
The governor, however, was not harmed during the incident.
Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho have been at the forefront of condemning the Jubilee administration over poor leadership.
The duo's bodyguards were withdrawn in early January, a move that the Opposition linked to their constant criticism of the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government.
The governors later rejected their security detail after they were reinstated, claiming the government had sent them to spy on them.
Kingi has on several occasions stated that no amount of intimidation will make him change his political stance, adding that he is in ODM to stay.
