An M-Pesa agent was on Tuesday shot by armed robbers at his business premise in Mikindani’s Kwa-shee area, Mombasa County.Changamwe police boss Peter Omwana who confirmed the incident said the businessman was taken to Bomu Hospital in Changamwe for medical treatment and is in stable condition.The police boss said the gang of three armed men who were riding on a motorcycle stormed the M-Pesa shop and made away with Sh11,000.He said two of the thugs posed as customers before the third one, who was armed, drew a pistol and ordered the agent to give him money.Omwana said police have launched investigations into the matter, adding that they have also launched a manhunt for the suspects who escaped using a motorcycle.“We are waiting for the businessman to regain consciousness as he is the one who engaged the gunmen. We hope he has a rough image of the suspects and he will be able to assist the investigators,” said Omwana, as quoted by Baraka FM.The police boss further urged members of the public to volunteer information that will help police arrest the suspects.
