The Member of National Assembly for Kathiani Constituency Robert Mbui has assured residents that the construction of the Thwake broken bridge will commence soon.
Speaking on Wednesday in Athi River Primary School during the school dorm opening in Athi River area, Mbui stated the bridge needed a quick solution as it is a connection between two constituencies.
"The collapse of Thwake bridge has disrupted many businesses in the Kangundo and Kathiani Sub-Counties and I have put measures in place for its construction to begin by the start of next week," said Mbui.
However only time will tell if the MP will ensure to keep his promise.
Speaking to one of the boda boda operators Joseph Muasya, he stated that the situation had cost him Sh3,000.
"I used to transport tomatoes from Kakuyuni to Kathiani town for business but after the bridge collapsed it's not possible anymore," said Muasya.
This comes barely a week after the former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti demanded for immediate action by the area leadership.
The residents now have hope following the promise by their Member of Parliament.
