Nairobi governor candidate Peter Kenneth has dismissed the Trends and Insights for Africa (Tifa) poll results released on Thursday.
Kenneth termed the poll as grossly dishonest.
The poll put him trailing his two main rivals with a wide margin.
According to the poll, Jubilee’s Mike Sonko has closed the gap between him and incumbent Evans Kidero of ODM, both tied at 44 per cent.
This was a rise by one per cent for Sonko.
The independent candidate Kenneth scored a paltry 4 per cent.
But in a fast rejoinder, Kenneth moved to dismiss the poll as an 'outcome of extortion networks'.
“My fate lies with the people of Nairobi and not boardroom arrangements by questionable polling companies which are subject to specific individuals in the race,” he said as quoted by the Nation.
He said it was conducted for selfish reasons and asked Nairobi residents to turn out in large numbers and vote him to disapprove the pollsters “who think they can arm-twist Nairobians who think they can vote for comedians and corrupt individuals".
