The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is today (Thursday] expected to kick start the nomination process, as the August 8, general elections draw closer.
The party's National Elections Board in partnership with County Election Boards (NEB), will oversee the nominations in Bungoma, Busia and Machakos counties, amid tight competition from participating aspirants.
In Busia, ODM faces tough challenge in nominating incumbent governor Sospeter Ojaamong' and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma, who are all eyeing the County's top seat.
Otuoma accuses the governor of incompetence, with both being strong supporters of the Raila Odinga-led party.
The orange party becomes the first to enter party primaries, as their Jubilee rivals kick off the same, next-week Friday. Jubilee primaries will be held on the same day, nationwide.
On Saturday, ODM will conduct nominations in Turkana, Kakamega, Samburu and Narok counties.
The Board has since warned aspirants against engaging in cases of violence, saying anyone who defies the order, will be expelled, even if they win in the nominations.
