Thika Deputy County Commissioner Tom Anjere has guaranteed security of participants and locals ahead of the Kenya Inter County Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) games that will start in a week’s time in Kiambu.

On Friday the commissioner said that security measures have been put in place to guarantee safety or participants, visitors and locals during the one week games.

Anjere said that police patrols will be heightened with more law enforcers being deployed to Thika and its environs where the games will be held.

He said they are holding meetings with the Kiambu government officials and stakeholders to ensure the inter-county tournament is a success.

Mr anjere warned criminals planning to take advantage of the games to steal an cause havoc saying that they will be dealt with accordingly.

“Criminals who think that they will take advantage of the KICOSCA games to advance their crimes are in for a rude shock,” said Anjere.

The KICOSCA games will bring together all the 47 counties with teams participating in various sports.

Kiambu government won the rights to host this year’s 4th edition of the games that will be held at various grounds in Thika Sub County starting from 14th to 21st  this month.

The official ceremony for the games will be held on Monday 15th at the Thika stadium and will be officiated by Kiambu governor William Kabogo.
