An elected Member of Parliament from Kisii County has called on Kisii and Nyamira politicians to unite and form a strong political party ahead of 2022.
According to South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, the Gusii community has been shortchanged for long but it is not too late to change the situation.
The lawmaker said politicians from Gusii region should unite and form a strong political party they will use in 2022 because they are being sidelined by the current parties.
"Gusii politicians are not heard because we don't have a political party. This is the right time leaders should unite and form a party which will be used to negotiate for our people for the sake of development," he said.
Osoro stated that most politicians including him from Gusii region are in opposition but their voice has not been heard.
"Many of us from Kisii and Nyamira are in opposition. When opposition is making crucial decisions Gusii politicians are being left out. We will not allow one tribe or two to swallow the Gusii community. A new and strong political party is the only way our community can be heard either in the government or opposition," he noted.
The MP was speaking during a Radio interview with Egesa Fm on Wednesday.
