[Photo: nairobinews.nation.co.ke]NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga's wife Ida says that she doesn't feel bad whenever President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto refer to her husband as 'mzee wa kitendawili'.Ida says that vitendawilis are good when you are talking to people because most of the things you tell them they tend to forget'."When you use 'vitendawilis' or story telling to pass your message, it sticks. Every time Raila says 'kitendawili' everyone pays attention and listens to what is coming next. It is a very friendly way of passing a message," Ida told NTV on Wednesday.She noted that Ruto is a product of Raila and 'those 'vitendawilis' trained him to be what he is today. Ruto should, therefore, be grateful to Raila'.Ida, a teacher by profession, said that the origin of Raila's 'vitendawilis' dates back to the days he was in detention in the '80s."All he could do was read all the Kiswahili books he found, wise sayings and so forth. He learnt most of them when he was in prison. That was the bright side.""He also tells me that he read the Bible through and through three times. I can confirm that because every time we are discussing it (Bible) he tells me, yes, that is in the book of so and so an indication he read it severally," Ida said.
