With Kenyans getting tired of the endless and unhelpful politics on the 2022 succession race, it is time elected leaders focus on delivering on their mandate before it is too late.
Already, the many of the leaders, who were elected about seven months ago, have spent too much time arguing on who will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he retires. That is being selfish, and inconsiderate of the needs of the voters who gave them the jobs they are holding. We should not waste another year in the mud playing dirty politics.
Now that election petitions for all posts are over, any elected leader engaging in politics will be fully accountable to the voters during the 2022 general election. As has happened in the past, elected officials who don't deliver will be shown the door by the angry voters.
Let's give credit where it is due. Some opposition politicians have seen the light, and as a result have embraced development, including President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda. They have called for an end to the farfetched talk on who will be the next president.
The sycophantic elected officials in NASA who continue to play the usual politics are sure going to be sent home for not doing their work. And that will happen very early on the voting day.
As Deputy President William Ruto said over the weekend, there are millions of Kenyans who are looking for good performance between now and 2022 from the leaders put in office.
