Mr Bosire, an economist who has been on the political arena for a while before clinching the Kitutu Masaba seat, has climbed the ranks in the Kenya's single largest party, ODM.

Last week, Bosire was charged with hate speech over the remarks he made during a news briefing in Nairobi in response to assassination claims by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

And now, County Assembly deputy majority leader James Mating’a and Magombo MCA Ezra Mochiem, were unanimous during separate phone interviews that Bosire had built a legacy that makes him qualify as the region’s political kingpin.

“I have been studying his way of doing things and his ideologies for quite some time and I bet he is a Gusii kingpin whom we haven’t officially installed,” Matinga said.

“He has a stand and is never easily swayed by political waves. He believes in what is best for his people and this is exactly what we need as a Gusii spokesperson. Bosire has shown that political loyalty is never bought and by that virtue, he is undisputed Gusii kingpin,” he said.

Mochiemo on his part said Bosire's objective development record and ability to withstand strong political storms had uplifted him to a supper class of late George Anyona Moseti.

“Bosire is one of the few politicians in the country who operatives on principles of self-belief. He has withstood political temperatures from his rivals and still stood strong. Other leaders from Gusii should give him unconditional support as their spokesperson for the sake of development regardless of his political party,” he said.

The region has been doing without a political kingpin for a while since the retirement of Mr Simon Nyachae from political scene.
